Relationship Counselling

You may come on your own or with a partner – you do not even have to be in a relationship to access our services.
Your first session with your counsellor is for you to talk about why you have come to Relate and what you want from us. Your counsellor will explain how we work and whether we can help you. If we can’t offer you help we may be able to refer you to a more appropriate agency.
If you would like to continue with more sessions of counselling, you will need to go onto our waiting list.

Family Counselling

This service is for families, parents, children, siblings, extended families and step families with issues to resolve around divorce, separation, parenting responsibilities, family problems, support for bereavement issues and improving family life.
Please ring and speak to our reception staff about availability.

Sex Therapy

Many adult couples and individuals encounter sexual problems at some time in their life. Relate can help. Our sex therapists are highly trained and will offer an assessment to ensure that sex therapy is an appropriate way forward.

Telephone counselling

This service is for people who find it difficult to come to our centre in Leeds and is by appointment. The service is available to landlines only. Telephone counselling can be used as a one-off consultation, an assessment prior to attending on-going sessions or if you prefer you can have telephone counselling on a regular basis.

Licensed Counsellors

If you wish to access Relate services in Wakefield you can do so via our Licensed Counselling scheme. Our Licensed Counsellors work to Relate standards and are available for consultation at two venues in Wakefield. Please contact our reception team for further information.
